What will you learn?

  • You will learn the basic skills and knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) law
  • You will learn how to navigate, implement and monitor different aspects of workplace OHS policies, procedures and programs within any organization.
  • Receiving education Certificate 4 in Disability Support equips students with the necessary skills to support individuals with disabilities effectively.

 

Entry Requirements

There are no specified entry requirements for this qualification specified within the Business Services Training Package. Noting this, AIMS Institute of Training and Technology requires persons who undertake this course to:

  • Be aged 18 years or over
  • Hold a Year 12 certificate or equivalent or work experience
  • Have access to a computer with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint installed; and PDF reader capabilities
  • Have access to an internet connection
  • Have access to a smartphone, video camera or web camera
  • Have suitable Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills to read and comprehend learning materials.

 

LLN (English Language, Literacy & Numeracy) or CSI (Core Skill Indicator) requirements:

  • The Australian Core Skills Framework is a tool used to assist both specialist and non-specialist English language, literacy and numeracy which describe an individual’s performance in the five core skills – learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy.
  • Upon assessment of your core skills during the enrolment process, you may have to undertake Core Skills Indicator Assessment.

 

USI (Unique Student Identifier)

  • A USI is a Unique Student Identifier that provides students with an online record of their nationally recognised training activity and outcomes in Australia. If you’re undertaking any nationally recognised training, you are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
  • Without a USI, a student will not be issued with their AQF certificate or qualification or statement of attainment. If you do not have one, you can create one here

RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) /  Credit Transfer

  • RPL:  It is the assessment process that assesses the competency(ies) of an individual that may have been acquired through formal and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual meets the requirements specified in the training package or VET accredited courses.
  • Credit Transfer: It is the recognition of learning achieved through formal education and training. It allows for the unit(s) of competency previously achieved by the student to be recognised when they are enrolling.

BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (Cert IV WHS) was previously known as BSB41407 Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (Cert IV in OHS). The Cert IV in WHS is the minimum required qualification to find a job as WHS/OHS manger, WHS officer or WHS-related position.
