If you are seeking employment in the construction industry in Australia, you have to complete an induction training course to obtain a White Card. Having a White Card can significantly boost your employability in the construction sector.

COURSE OVERVIEW

White Card training helps participants get fundamental knowledge about construction safety, including hazard identification and risk management. Mastering these basics helps minimise the likelihood of accidents and injuries on site. When workers adhere to safety practices, they ensure a secure working environment for themselves and those around them.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

 

  • You MUST be located in Tasmania
  • Participants must be at least 14 years old to enrol
  • Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Skills
  • Computer Literacy: A system equipped with programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and PDF reader, video camera/web camera or Smartphone
  • Stable internet connection
  • Proof of identification: Driver’s License, Passport. School ID, Age Card
  • Confirmation of Attendance: Attendance will be confirmed after sighting the valid Photo ID.
  • Unique Student Identifier (USI): If you do have not have USI, please create your USI HERE

A 6-hour online Face-to-Face live session is conducted using MS TEAMS where theory and practical elements are covered.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Knowledge Assessment: Four (4) quizzes of multiple-choice questions (MCQ) or short answers questions online
  • Practical Skill Assessment: How to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including
    • safety glasses, earmuffs, hard hats, and high-visibility vests.

CERTIFICATION

A Statement of Attainment for the White Card Course is issued within 24 hours of completion.
